Desoto Mine 10-22-05 (18 images)
Ran a trail today called Desoto Mine with the AZ TTORA boys. We had 14 trucks show up.
The trail runs between Mayer and Cleator. It has a couple very rocky sections in the creek
and some pretty off-camber inclines/declines. About 3/4's of the way through the trail a 4
Runner snapped one of the arms (J arm?) that controls the steering. And of course it happened on a
downhill shelf road. These two guys that were with a group behind us recommended battery
welding it. I've never even heard of that let alone seen it done. They tied three car
batteries together, then plugged regular jumper cables onto the third battery. That
produces enough energy to burn the metal. Anyways, you can see the pictures of the weld job.
Pretty freak'n cool.
